Working Together

I am a trauma-focused counselor contracted by Place2Heal to work with adults, children, couples, and families. Learn about my areas of expertise, intake process, payment and scheduling options, and therapeutic approach.

Ashley Karen Roy, CSWA

I believe pain is an invitation to heal so our wounds can become our wisdom. I typically work with people who have endured abuse, neglect, or indoctrination; people who have witnessed, experienced, or participated in traumatic events; people contending with issues of meaning, purpose, identity, and self-esteem; and people yearning for a healthier sense of love and human connection. In addition to working with adults and children, I enjoy helping couples and families restore integrity, intimacy, and harmonious functioning to their relationships.

3-step Intake Process

Screening

Call Place2Heal at (541) 851-3300 to schedule a 15-minute screening. Tell the screener you would like to book an assessment with Ashley Karen Roy. They will create a client portal where you can review practice policies and share contact, demographic, and payment information along with a brief description of why you are seeking services.

Assessment

Assessment usually takes 1.5 hours. We’ll develop a clear picture of the situations and/or symptoms for which you are seeking therapy and discuss relevant aspects of your biological, psychological, and social history. Portions of the assessment can be completed through the client portal to facilitate a smoother in-person experience.

Treatment Planning

Treatment Planning takes 30 to 60 minutes. Focusing on the situations and symptoms prioritized during assessment, we will develop goals and objectives for therapy. We will also discuss evidence-based approaches that may be a good fit for your values and preferences. Monthly measures will be sent through the client portal to track progress.

Payment & Scheduling

Insurance

I currently accept OHP/Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), MODA, and Providence. OHP/Medicaid covers the full cost of services. For other insurances, please check your copays and deductibles.

Cash Pay

Find Place2Heal’s cash pay rates below (as a contractor, I receive only a fraction of these amounts). The numbers are intimidating, but a sliding scale is available. Adult Therapy Sessions

Partnership

I will not presume to have all the answers or the power to “fix” you with readymade solutions (as if you have nothing to offer), nor will I nod politely and ask, “How does that make you feel?” (as if I have nothing to offer). We will each bring to bear our experience, insight, strengths, and skills to help you heal, grow, and live well. Our work centers on the active, collaborative processes of discovery and transformation, not the passive transmission of “cures.”

Soulful Science

My scientific background is most helpful in the context of a sound philosophy and value-orientation. Drawing from diverse evidence bases and traditions, I integrate clinical, developmental, and interpersonal psychology with disciplines such as somatics, neuroscience, epistemology, ethics, anthropology, and sociology. I am as likely to utilize state of the art therapies as I am to reference great works of art. And I facilitate practices for mind-body integration because healing occurs (and wisdom manifests) at their nexus.

Healing & Growth

Healing involves orienting toward the past to discover its legacies (How does it impact us today?) and learn its lessons (What does it have to teach us?). It entails translating awareness into understanding, understanding into decisions that restore Self-Leadership, and Self-Leadership into behaviors that yield the health and wholeness from which growth can proceed. Wiser and unburdened, alive to the present, we can orient more productively toward the future while enjoying and caring for the person we continuously become.
